Interests: A number of extant animals (e.g., birds, crocodylians) utilize trigeminal-innervated sensory systems to interact with their environments. I am interested in understanding the innervation, anatomy, and evolution of these systems (especially in pseudosuchian archosaurs) in order to apply them to extinct animals. I utilize dissection and imaging techniques (e.g., whole-mount staining, histology, CT scanning) to look inside the skulls of both extant and extinct animals to better understand and reconstruct the behaviors and interactions of these animals.
